Natural Weight Loss with Enrique
I caught up with Enrique and asked him a few questions about his recent transformation, here’s what he said.
When was the exact moment you decided to transform?
The exact moment I decided was about 2 weeks into my nutrition program at bodhi. Anthony had convinced me that I should be more thoughtful about my nutrition. If I did I could really transform my body in combination with the group training workouts I was already doing at bodhi. So I did it. At the time, I thought I was generally a healthy eater so I was skeptical that I would see any major results. But about 2 weeks into the program the weight was FALLING off and I was hooked and ready to go all the way!
What did you see when you looked in the mirror before you started your journey and what do you see now?
I saw a person that thought he was doing all he could do (within reason) to be in shape. I really thought that the effort needed to look how I wanted to look was too hard and out of reach. Now I see a person educated on nutrition who knows that some simple changes can make a huge difference. Plus, I see abs!
How much weight have you lost?
What was your biggest challenge or obstacle?
My biggest challenge was fighting off the urge to eat a huge unhealthy meal when I was stressed. That was always my weak point. I could eat healthy most of the time but then binge on something like an entire pizza after a stressful day at work. Over time avoiding this became easier and easier. The more I ate healthily, the more I wanted to keep eating healthy. Karen’s coaching was key to this. She guided me through how to eat during the day to avoid urges like this.
What do you consider is your biggest accomplishment?
Learning how not to drown my salads in olive oil! Aside from that, learning how to be consistent with my eating but also learning how to get right back to the routine after a meal or day when I did not eat all that healthy.
What’s the one word that comes to mind when you want to describe yourself now?
What are you most proud of?
Getting to a point where I feel as healthy as I have ever felt and done it at a time when I have 2 kids under 3 years old.
What would you say to someone who is contemplating making a healthy lifestyle change?
Don’t overthink it, just do it! You will not regret it. Your health is the most important thing you have. Make it a priority.
One word of advice for someone who has just begun their transformation journey?
It gets easier!
